Our History

Pan Gregorian Enterprises of Upper New York was established in 1989 by a few restaurant owners who had a vision of uniting all restaurateurs for stronger negotiating power with various distributors that each establishment dealt with daily.  The organization started out with 12 members, as of today it has grown to include over 500.  Pan Gregorian is a well-organized cooperative, which means that its members share ownership.  A president and a Board of Directors, whose jobs it is to negotiate contracts with distributors/suppliers, govern the organization.  We currently have well over 80 such contracts.  Stockholder meetings and elections are held every year.  For the individual restaurant owner, working under our umbrella and using our contracts means more than just saving extra dollars, it means survival.  Pan Gregorian Enterprises supports the independent restaurant owner.  Since most independent restaurant owners do not have the means to get their message heard over the cacophony produced by large chains, we work to secure contracts with national distributors, such as Pepsi-Cola, Heinz, and Tyson to name a few.  Our membership reflects the disparate nature of all restaurant owners, not just those of Greek descent but all who share a goal of commitment and success.  Pan Gregorian Enterprises has also been widely recognized for its charitable foundation.  The Charitable Foundation of Pan Gregorian Enterprises organizes an annual dinner dance event to raise money for organizations such as: Deborah Hospital, Sloan Kettering Hospital, Children’s Cancer Research Hospital, United Way, St. Basil’s Academy, Hudson Valley Veterans, Boy Scouts of America, Ronald McDonald House  and individual cases of families with terminally ill children.  We are grateful to the inspiration of our predecessors and with their legacy we hope to continue growing and improving our organization maintaining their original ideas, commitment, strength and unity
